This week’s episode of The Cloud Pod is basically a two-for-one deal. Is there anything better? We have compiled the “greatest hits” from the last two weeks for your viewing pleasure, all in one place. As the official sponsors of The Cloud Pod, we hope you enjoy the following updates from the big three:
“I choose to be intentionally paranoid”, says AWS CEO, Adam Selipsky. The whole world is watching closely as we navigate a difficult economy, but AWS CEO is paying extra close attention considering the huge ship he is steering. We are sure AWS employees and users are grateful. Speaking of cash flow, AWS has updated their AWS Bills page for users. Our hosts don’t even hate it. If you’re an AWS user, check out the re-designed Bills page that should provide a little more clarity into your spend. The fear of the unknown hasn’t stopped them from introducing a series of new updates and offerings, including: new enhancements for MGN and Amazon Connect Outbound Campaigns!
GCP’s not-so-subtle advertisement of their program, Compute Engine, boasts they have hit another record: 100 trillion digits of pi. We get it. The computing power game is on point (pun completely intended). Google is using their AI research to continue to solve business problems, introducing Vertex AI Tabular Workflows. This ML/tabular data tool is scalable and fully managed, ready for your biggest workloads. Any Cloud Pod episode is not complete until we provide some security news: GCP announces new BigQuery capabilities to help secure sensitive data.
Microsoft has announced 4 workforce reforms you may want to be aware of. Though we know these things are always directly related to the competition (ahem, Amazon), times are changing and Microsoft is keeping up. The MB limit per document in API for MongoDB (in public preview) has now increased to 16MB. Lastly, Azure Firewall Manager aimed at centralizing network security management sounds promising, but only time will tell!
This week’s episode summary brought to you from a shiney, new tablet thanks to #primeday.
