I won’t get too deep into all of the value that Megaport brings to the industry with their SDN technologies and services, they do a great job of that at their website. We don’t partner with every company that has a great value prop. We specifically partner with companies that have solutions that fit exceptionally well into projects that we deliver.
Two project types lend themselves exceptionally well to Megaport. Migrations, and Multi-Cloud Infrastructures.
Migrations:
When our clients are migrating to the cloud, they often want a flexible network solution. Most need long term connectivity to their private or colocated datacenter, but they also need network bandwidth that is specific to their migration. Megaport’s fast setup and flexible bandwidth options make them a great fit here.
MultiCloud:
My favorite use for Megaport is when customers are connecting multiple public clouds together. All of the cloud providers offer some sort of “direct connect” network solution to allow companies to tie into their existing networks. These usually included lower cost egress bandwidth pricing. Megaport offers their ‘cloud router’, which allows companies to create more of a mesh network between all of their virtual ports. The method that they use to get a ‘port’ at a cloud provider within a specific region is to leverage the various providers’ private connectivity options. So, each provider simply sees the cloud router as the ‘private network’. But that cloud router becomes the hub between all of the providers. So, in effect, you have native connectivity to Azure, AWS, and GCP, and lowest cost egress pricing, spun up in less than an hour.
If you think that’s pretty cool, give us a ring, we’ll run through your use case and see if this is a good solution for you.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
